  • Made assignments to writers to carry out the vision.
  • Gathered photo and art suggestions to illustrate copy.
  • Managed the editorial process, which included editing and proofreading text, fact checking, and working with the American Bible Society and Time Inc. Home Entertainment to ensure that the product is sound biblically, culturally relevant, and also adheres to the specifications of Time, Inc. and the American Bible Society.
  • Worked with freelance designers to create the overall look, family of fonts, and headings for page design.
  • Submitted and implemented cover designs.
  • Submitted design parameters and overall look to Time Inc. Home Entertainment for approval.
  • Worked closely with the editorial project manager and the staff of the American Bible Society and Time Inc. to build pages based on content and available illustrations. Designed and typeset 256 pages based on final approved manuscript and illustrations.
  • Ran quality control checks on all pages at every typesetting stage.
  • Developed front and back matter, including a topical index.
  • Prepared final, high-resolution PDFs and sent the PDFs to a specified printer.
